Plain-English guides for people who have to comply
Last updated: October 2026
AI Regulation & User Privacy is an independent explainer site covering the rules that govern artificial intelligence and personal data: the EU AI Act, the GDPR, US state privacy statutes, breach notification duties and the copyright questions raised by generative models.
Who writes this
The site is run by a small editorial team with backgrounds in technology compliance and technical writing. We translate dense legal texts into steps a product manager, marketer or IT lead can actually follow. Every article is written from the primary sources - the regulation text, official guidance and published court decisions - and then edited for a non-lawyer reader.
How the guides are produced
- Primary sources first. Claims trace back to the regulation, an official guidance page or a public court filing.
- Numbers are hedged when they are hedged upstream. Where a figure is approximate, we say roughly or typically rather than inventing precision.
- No invented statistics. If we cannot verify a number, it does not appear in the article.
- Short by design. Each guide runs about five minutes and ends with something you can do this week.
- Reviewed on a schedule. Articles carry a visible update date and are revisited when the underlying rules change.
What this site is not
We are not a law firm and nothing here is legal advice. Regulations interact with your facts - where you operate, what data you process, which sector you are in - and a general article cannot price that in. For a binding decision, talk to a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction. Read the full terms in our Terms of Use.
How the site is funded
AI Regulation & User Privacy is free to read and funded by display advertising. Ad placements are labelled, and advertising partners have no influence over editorial content. Analytics data is described in the Privacy Policy.
